Launch of NEXSO-YO Program & YO Night 2022

NExSO-YO is a pilot mentorship and experience sharing program initiated by the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology and Roche APAC, aimed at elevating and promoting experience sharing in ophthalmology beyond borders.

The program was launched on 27th July 2022 in a hybrid format, with a webinar on “Innovations in Ophthalmology: How they shaped my career” with a face to face audience at The Botanico in Singapore, and broadcasted live to young ophthalmologists across the Asia Pacific region.

In this webinar, A/Prof Adrian Koh, Prof Tina Wong, A/Prof Gopal Lingam and Adj Asst Prof Llewellyn Lee shared their experience on how they navigated the constantly evolving ophthalmology landscape in their times and respectively areas of expertise. They also shared valuable advice on how to thrive in careers spanning from research, education, surgery and private practice.

YO leaders from the region Dr Lee Haeng Jin (South Korea), Dr Joy Leung (Hong Kong) and Dr Lin Tai Chi (Taiwan) joined us virtually as panelists to offer a truly Asia Pacific perspective on how YOs can thrive in their careers.

An evening of good food, drinks and games followed, with our YOs finally meeting old friends and making new ones after 3 years of pandemic social restrictions.
